The Delhi government earned a earnings of Rs 768 crore in one month beneath the ragged excise policy regime implemented from September 1, officers said on Friday. The federal government had reverted lend a hand to ragged excise regime from September 1, withdrawing its novel policy (2021-22) implemented from November 17, 2021.

The Excise Policy 2021-22 changed into withdrawn by the Delhi government after Lieutenant Governor V Okay Saxena had in July this year urged a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in its implementation. 

“Under the present policy implemented from September 1, a earnings of Rs 768 crore has been earned along side Rs 460 crore as excise accountability and an estimated quantity of Rs 140 crore as VAT,” a senior Delhi government officer said.

Under the present policy, four companies of Delhi government — DTTDC, DSIIDC, DSCSC, DCCWS — hold opened retail vends accurate thru the metropolis. The September month earnings of the four companies changed into Rs 40 crore, the officer said.

Up to now, the four companies hold opened 400 liquor stores within the metropolis. The number will plod up to 700 by the year end, the officers said. The Excise Division has moreover registered over 500 brands of various liquors and the number will upward thrust extra with extra registrations, they said. Under the Excise Policy 2021-22, essentially the most primary quarter earnings in 2022-23 changed into Rs 1,485 crore, which changed into 37.51 per cent no longer up to the budget estimates of Rs 2,375 crore, the officers said.
