Last Edited: 25 Mar 2020 11:31 pmRocks in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are a hot commodity considering they produce iron nuggets, clay, stone, gold nuggets, and sometimes even bells! This page covers a surefire way to harvest eight items from each rock every time in ACNH.
Between a Hole and a Rock Trick[edit]There’s a way to guarantee you’ll get eight materials or resources per rock, you just have to strategically dig holes behind you to prevent being knocked back! Position yourself in-between the rock and the holes (pictured above), then bash away with your shovel as fast as you can. (You can use an axe instead if you’d like.)
Watch the video below at 1:40 to see this trick in action with exact, step-by-step instructions. Make sure to completely clear the ground around the rock of weeds, trees, and any other items. If the ground isn’t clear, the items won’t have a place to land, and you’ll be out of luck.
Make sure to not bash rocks after eating fruit! You will completely destroy it. Don’t worry though, if you accidentally break a rock, it will “grow back” to a random place on the island in a few days. How to Get Bells out of a Rock[edit]A long time secret of the Animal Crossing games is that each day, one random rock will contain bells instead of minerals, and you can keep hitting it to earn more and more money. Be sure to stop yourself from getting knocked back by digging holes behind yourself (above/below and to the side) and strike the rock a maximum of eight times to get up to 16,400 bells each day!
