Last Edited: 25 Sep 2020 9:57 pmHow to Install The MGS 2 Graphics Mod1. Install MGS 2: Substance via the GOG Galaxy app or through GOG’s very own website.
2. Launch the game once, to ensure it’s working properly on your system and then close it once done.
3. Download the following:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5This should come as standard for Windows 8 and Windows 10 users but for people using Windows 7 or those who just want to re-download it, here is the link:

Aside from the numerous bug fixes found within the PC port, you can now also adjust the resolution of the game from within the mod’s launcher, tinker around with different graphical settings, adjust sound quality, add controller support (360/One and PS4) and more.
The link to download can be found at the top of the mod’s Wiki page: https://github.com/VFansss/mgs2-v-s-fix/wikiHere’s a direct link too:
https://github.com/VFansss/mgs2-v-s-fix/releases/download/v1.8/MGS.V.s.Fix.v1.8.zipAs of writing, the latest version is 1.8 which was released 19th of August 2020.
4. Once all downloads are complete, extract the file titled ‘MGS2SSetup.exe’ from the ‘MGS.V.s.Fix.v1.8zip’ into the ‘Game Installation Folderbin’ folder.
5. Open ‘MGS2SSetup.exe’ and don’t touch it until you come across a screen that looks like this:
6. Press ‘Settings’ and then configure whichever options you see fit. The default settings worked perfectly well on my own computer but tinker around as you see fit, depending on your own system.
7. To setup controller support, plug in your Xbox 360/One or PS4 controller and then click on the ‘Controls’ tab and press ‘Click HERE to configure your input devices’ which should open up a screen with a few options:
Make sure to select which kind of controller input you’ll be using and once done, click on ‘CONFIRM AND GO BACK’.
8. With all your settings complete and your controller setup, click on ‘SAVE’.
9. After clicking on ‘SAVE’, you should be booted back to the main menu of the launcher and then all you have to do now is simply click ‘START’. The game should now launch, with your desired settings saved!
As an extra note, you can now launch the game normally just from GOG Galaxy, the shortcut icon which GOG most likely dropped on your homescreen or you can use the MGS2SSetup.exe launcher. Either way, the fix is now applied and the game should be updated!
